For the opening night of the MATE Festival, on October 19 at 9:30 p.m. in the Grand Auditorium of the Convento São Francisco in Coimbra, we are honored to present the Coro das Mulheres da Fábrica & Uxía (Galicia).

This concert promises to be a unique and exciting moment with the powerful and inspiring voices of the Coro das Mulheres da Fábrica.

This is a community project, born within the Minde Culture Factory, which brings together women from different generations and backgrounds who transform traditional songs into true manifestations of identity, strength and beauty. Each performance is a living testimony to music's ability to unite and empower communities, making the Fábrica Women's Choir a benchmark on the Portuguese music scene.

As a special guest, the concert will feature Uxía, one of the most prestigious voices in traditional Galician music, known as the “Diva of the Atlantic”. With a career spanning more than 30 years and recognition across borders, Uxía has renewed Galician music by fusing it with Atlantic sounds such as fado, morna and Brazilian rhythms, bringing an unparalleled cultural richness to the stage.

Together, the Coro das Mulheres da Fábrica and Uxía will celebrate diversity and unity through female music, in a meeting that promises to thrill and mark the opening of the MATE Festival.

Useful information:

On show days, the doors of the Grand Auditorium open 30 minutes before the start of the show.
The show must begin at the scheduled time.
No one is allowed to enter the auditorium while the show is in progress, unless instructed to do so by the ushers.
All cell phones, alarm clocks or other sound devices must be turned off before the start of the show.
It is strictly forbidden to smoke or consume food or drink in the venues.

Under the terms of Decree-Law no. 23/2014, of February 14, children under the age of 3 are not allowed in venues, with the exception of shows aimed at children under the age of 3, classified as “all audiences”.

Refunds
Tickets cannot be exchanged and/or returned, except in the case of cancellation or change of date. The promoter is responsible for resolving this.

Changes
If, for reasons of force majeure, the date of the show is changed, the ticket will be valid for the final date.

The ticket price may be refunded if the show does not take place at the venue, on the scheduled date and time or if the main artists are replaced.

Access for people with reduced mobility
The Convento São Francisco has its own entrance for people with reduced mobility.
